The Colorado City Council met last night for a called meeting to deal with a couple of items. Mayor Jim Baum, along with Councilmen Bob McNeil, Marcelo Alvarez and Bob Brookshire were in attendance, along with Councilwoman Carol Sue Dakan. Councilman Justin Harris and Mayor Pro-Tem Sammy Contreras were unable to attend the meeting. The Council voted to put some used equipment in the Loraine Volunteer Fire Department's upcoming Farm Sale, which is to be held on March 28th.
The other item on the agenda was regarding Title insurance on the new Police Building, which in now under construction. Title Insurance is simply the best way to protect and insure the City's investment in the new Police Station. City Manager Zane Graham was quoted as saying, "It's just good business to insure your buildings." Voting to buy the insurance were Mayor Jim Baum and Council members Bob McNeil and Marcelo Alvarez. Council member Carol Sue Dakan voted no. Bob Brookshire was required to abstain, since he is issuing the Title insurance policy.
