Scenes from the weekend!




Colorado City Volunteer Fire Department were called out on Friday to fight a shed fire on Hickory Street, damage was held to a minimum.



Mitchell County....Poppy Mallow Capitol of the world!  These beautiful blooms are near the Sports Complex.


And plenty of cactus in Mitchell County too...the 2 beautiful blooms are right here in front of the radio station!

Local Senior Citizen Centers benefit from fundraiser.

The recent fundraiser held by the C.C. Opry netted over $4,000.00 for our local Senior Citizen Centers in Colorado City and Loraine!

Colorado City Fire Department gets a new truck!

Thanks to the Texas Forest Service, the Colorado City Volunteer Fire Department has a new truck!  This one has a 1000 gallon water tank and the vehicle is built to cover rough terrain.

A new bus for Colorado City Wolves!

A beautiful, custom bus has arrived for CHS!  Athletic teams and the band will now arrive in style in this bus, outfitted with the Wolves colors and mascot!

Self-Defense Course at Colorado High School.

The Midland College Police Officers paid a visit to Colorado City to offer a self-defense class to the Senior girls at Colorado High School. 


Last minute instructions from self-defense instructor Mariah Houck.


The girls and the "aggressors" wore the protective gear during the demonstrations, this girl was able to escape from her attackers.  The class will be taught to the girls at CMS next month.

Political Forum at the Civic Center.

Last night a political forum was held at the Civic Center last night and featured candidates from Colorado City and Westbrook. 

Ed Blake is running for City Council, a businessman with a proven record.


Dixie Rutherford is also running the for the Colorado City council and has a background as a police officer and dispatcher.

The City Council met last night, the 2 items on their agenda were financing the water wells and considering the proposed budget.

Congressman Mike Conaway paid a visit to Colorado City recently to visit with constituents and answer questions at the Civic Center.

The Annual KVMC/KAUM Easter Egg Hunt!

Over 100 eager kids and their parents turned out to Ruddick Park on Saturday morning for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt!  Special thanks to Shirley Denson and Juan Molina for their continued help throughout the years, and to the sponsors for making this event possible for the community year after year.

Wallace Senior Citizens Center gets donation from Monsanto!

The Wallace Senior Citizens recieved a windfall yesterday-a $2,500.00 gift courtesy of Monsanto and Landus and Diana Finley!  Farmers in 1245 elegible counties had the chance to win the money for their community non-profit organizations and Mr. Finley was the lucky winner!

Starting on the new water wells.....

The City of Colorado City will have three new water wells east of town in the near future.  The additional wells could result in the City's water restrictions being lifted.

Sights at the Loraine VFD Auction!

It was a packed house at the Annual Loraine VFD Auction this past Saturday!  The sale grossed almost $389,000.00 for the Fire Department.
