Local folks attend a Weather Spotters seminar.....

Midland Weather Bureau forecaster Ryan Barnes was the instructor at the Weather Spotters training.

Weather spotters are volunteers who give their time to keep an eye on the weather for the local media and the Weather Bureau.

Left to right, Robert Doyle, Fire Chief Rufino Martinez, Linda Mathis and Brian Bassham were among those attending the training.

The National Weather Service recently held a "Weather Spotters" Training at the Civic Center. A good turnout of folks listened and learned about severe weather from National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Barnes of the Midland Weather Bureau.
