Adandoned house comes down


An adandoned house on 9th Street, allegedly used as a drug house, came tumbling down yesterday in an effort to clean up the area and curb drug use in Colorado City.

New storage containers for Recycling!

The City now has 2 40' containers available for recycling at the street barn west of downtown at the City maintenance building. One for paper and the other for plastics and electronics later.

DPS Trooper Frank Casares Honored

Yesterday was a rewarding day for our law enforcement in Mitchell County.  Recognized at a luncheon at the Civic Center was DPS Trooper Frank Casares, who was fired upon by two men earlier this year. 

 
Also recognized at the luncheon was District Attorney Ann Reed, who prosecuted and convicted the two men.
