More toys for the "Hailey's Hope" display!

8 bags of toys were left in Dunn with a note that read "for Hailey".  The toys will be added to the display at 1805 Chestnut St. in Colorado City.  Hailey Dunn has been missing almost 8 months....if you have any information on her whereabouts, please contact the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294.

Lone Wolf Creek shows signs of the drought....

It's a sign of the times for sure...the drought is effecting Lone Wolf Creek...which runs through Ruddick Park.  Fish are dying and floating on the banks of the creek.  The City has plans to remove some of the excess soil to deepen the creek for the future.

The Relay for Life....

The extreme heat did not stop folks from turning our for the Annual Relay for Life event at Hutchinson.  Things were a little different this year, with a 5K Walk, a kid's Fun Run and the event was only one night instead of the usual overnight.  Over $13,000.00 was raised to help in the fight against cancer!

Update on the football field.....

This is a shot of the football field at Wolf Stadium as of yesterday!  Preparations are being made for the artificial turf to be laid down...will it be ready for the first home game?

Truck accident leaves a big mess on Interstate 20!

A truck accident that occured last week on Interstate 20 sure left a big mess!  Luckily the driver of the truck was not seriously injured, but crews had to close down part of the Interstate to clean up the oil-based paint.  Thanks to Debby Mitchell for the photos.

Colorado City Police Department promotes Traven Berrie to Sergeant!

The Colorado City Police Department held a swearing in ceremony for Officer Berrie yesterday....promoting him to Sergeant.  Also recognized at the event was Dispatcher Dottie Taylor, a State nominee for 911 Operator of the Year, cited by the Police Chief for her outstanding service. 


Sergeant Berrie is sworn in by City Secretary Donna Madrid.

City Council appoints Banks as new member......

The City Council recieved six application for the spot recently vacated by Jason Castillo.  Brenda Carpenter, Chad Morris, Dot Smith, Bobbi Banks, Larry Blassingame and Ed Blake all expressed an interest in the position.  Comments were made by Banks and Blassingame at the meeting, and the vote was 4-2 to appoint Bobbi Banks to fill in the spot till next election.  She ran against Mayor Dakan in the recent election and was defeated.

Larry Blassingame addressed the Council and does plan to seek election in May.



Bobbi Banks also was on hand to answer questions. 

Astroturf....coming to Wolf Stadium!




Wolf Stadium is getting a big facelift!  The grass has been plowed up and are waiting to be hauled off..then the work begins!  Texas Sports Builders Inc. will be putting in the articifical turf and should be ready for the first home game!!
